This was a really short trip to Bangkok so we chose Sofitel hotel, Sukhumvit, which is very central. For us it was convenient as it’s close to shopping malls, bars and nightlife. For those of you who know what Bangkok traffic is like will appreciate the hotel location. It is situated between two metro stations – both within walking distance.
Very generous size room with comfortable twin beds and amenities. Even an espresso machine. Those staying on the club floor have some extras such as easier check-in and check-out. The restaurant for the Millesime club, has an exclusive lounge where you can get complimentary afternoon tea with cakes and sandwiches. Perfect for relaxing after the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. From 5pm to 7pm it opens for happy hour. They offer quite a lot of delicious canapés, cut meats, cheese, smoked salmon and lots more. Wine and prosecco as much as you want. If you aren’t a big eater, you won’t be wanting dinner after.
The bathroom is a good size! It really has everything you need including Hermes amenities.
I loved what they offered at the breakfast buffet. I always started with fresh fruits, musli, natural jogurt and juice. There were so many different types of fresh fruits but I kept going back for papaya and lychees.
The club restaurant offers cooked breakfast. I always ordered scrambled eggs.
The poolside area is lovely and very relaxing. The seats under the water feature is great for cooling off, if you are too lazy to swim. There is also a large gym – So Fit, with state-of-the-art equipments and a lovely spa using L’Occitane products. Unfortunetly, I only had time for mani and pedi.
At the end of the day the place to go is the roof top bar and restaurant, which has amazing views over Bangkok. One evening we were lucky enough to see the sky lit up by lightening. That was spectacular.
