It’s been a while since I last visited Qatar. A very good friend who spent time working in the Maldives moved to Qatar because of her job. You might ask yourself why would anyone move from a piece of paradise! Especially the Maldives! Sometimes there isn’t a choice but in her case, she simply had enough of island life, although her job there was stress-free. Imagine that!
My friend could not get another day off work to show me around which was disappointing for both of us. She suggested I go to The Pearl.
The Pearl is a relatively new man-made island with luxurious high-end boutiques, residential accommodation, hotels and luxury cars showrooms such as Maserati, Ferrari, and Rolls-Royce.
I strolled along the waterfront promenade and admired the beautiful yachts and boats. It’s so much nicer than walking inside a mall. Guess I would think different during the summer months when the temperature rises!
I can’t recall how long I had been walking but I started feeling quite warm – or maybe I should say hot and a little peckish. I headed towards Paul’s and settled for a table inside where I could cool off. I knew what I wanted and placed my order straight away! Fresh orange juice and salmon quiche.
Soon after lunch, I was well on my way, wanting to see as much as possible before it got hotter.I’m sure I went into almost every boutique – if you know what I mean!
By chance, I saw a cute little shop selling bags and later found out it was Kwanpen boutique. All their bags are handmade and come with a hefty price tag,
It was time to head back to my friend’s apartment but stopped off at the Westin hotel for afternoon tea.
