Update Of An Old Skirt

Update Of An Old Skirt

When I got this top I wasn’t sure if I should return it. I tried it on several times but was not fully convinced. As so many other unworn clothing, it got lost in the back of my closet – haha. That was until I updated an old pencil skirt.

I’ve had the pencil skirt for many years and the zip broke. This is when I decided to update it with a new zip – but instead of the usual zip, I opted for a long exposed red zip all the way down the back. The look is a bit more dramatic.

I took the opportunity of changing the waistband at the same time because it always felt a bit uncomfortable. I sewed a wide elastic band onto the skirt and discarded the original band. Volià! I have a new skirt which fits beautifully with my red Self-portrait top.

Updating an old garment can be just as satisfying as buying a new one, so instead of throwing out old clothes, get creative and update them.

Hey hon, this post really shows the importance of details. Look at the difference that red zip makes, it’s unexpected and just WERKS! I’m all about using creativity to remix old clothes to breathe new life into them and that’s totally what you’ve done. Brava and have a good week ahead . Xo

Love getting creative with old unworn clothes! I recently did a closet clean out and found a lot of pieces that I haven’t worn in like 3 years but I matched them in some great outfits. It’s a better feeling than buying new clothes 🙂

And so you created a new stylish and unique look! Fantastic and the blouse looks very very good on you! I am a bit jealous of the shoes with red soles!!!

    • mm 22/08/2017 / 05:31

I’m very happy with this look and now I love wearing the blouse! I admit these shoes are beautiful but they were not made for walking far! Girls and their red-soles, eh!
