COVID-19 has now forced us to wash our hands more often with soap and water which is more effective than using hand sanitizers. We are told in order to reduce the risk of contracting the virus we should use alcohol-based hand sanitizers which contain at least 60% alcohol when we are on the go, or in situations where there aren’t any possibility of washing with soap and water. This advice should be taken seriously – as I’m sure most of us are doing… and if not, then you should start right now.
While washing and sanitizing help to prevent spreading and picking up the virus, my hands have become drier – although I’m repeatedly moisturising them. I have used many different hand creams…some because I like the smell or the packaging or the brand with a price tag. They have all worked well until COVID-19.
I started using Neutrogena which is one of my favourite hand creams of all times. I always used this when I needed a bit more than regular hand cream. It protects and repairs dry sensitive skin and chapped hands. It feels a little greasy at first but not for long. My hands are noticeably smoother and softer. It’s reasonably priced and a little goes a long way.
Before going to bed apply a generous amount of good-old-fashion vaseline to your hands and wear gloves overnight. Below are some of my favourite hand creams that are reasonably priced.
